Travelling #1

Hello everyone!
How have you been? Well? Good, now back to me. So I thought now would be a good time to talk about some of my travels. I have been to a few places around the world, but I'll start off with my recent trip to Sri Lanka.

This was taken on the way to Nuwara Eliya.

In Sri Lanka my family and I visited sights such as Seegiriya, Nuwara Eliya and the capital city of Colombo. I had some of the best moments here, meeting with relatives and friends who I hadn't seen in almost nineteen years.
This is a statue of Lord Buddha in Seegiriya.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful place, full of friendly faces, warm weather and amazing food. It is so sad however to see the poverty that has nearly taken over this nation. Nearly everywhere you go, there are homeless people begging for money, or a shanty town swarming with children. Even though these children have next to nothing, they are still able to smile, and this puts a smile on my face too. I tried to do whatever I could to help those in need, such as donating money or buying food, but I still thought it wasn't enough.

I had the most brilliant time in Sri Lanka, and I can't wait to revisit this ancient and wonderful country.

Thanks for reading, and I will see you when I see you.

Food! Glorious Food!

Hey everyone! How are we? Good? Now back to me.

Now I love my food... I love eating it, I love cooking it, and I also love watching it.That's right... watching it.
I have a little obsession with food related TV shows. Masterchef, My Kitchen Rules, Jamie at Home, Nigella Kitchen, just to name a sneaky few.
Another craze that's sweeping the globe are online food tutorials. YouTube is an amazing platform to post about food, and about a million other things too. I would love to do some vlogging on YouTube, but I don't know if I'm game enough... should I? Let me know if you think I should.
But back to the point I was making earlier... FOOD! Some of my favourite online cooking tutorials come from www.sortedfood.com. They regularly post recipe videos, showing how to cook various different foods, ranging from sesame tofu with miso rice to macarons... MACARONS! I actually tried making the macarons from Sorted Food, and I have to say, they turned out pretty well.
Sorted Food also do a series of videos called Fridge Cam, where they play around with recipes, and talk about the food that they made throughout the week.

I think Sorted Food is a must for any budding chef, or even anyone who just wants to experiment with food... give it a go!
And here's a little snippet of some of there recipes when they did a series on foods from the USA called Sorted Eats America.

So that's all from me. Stay safe, and I'll see you when I see you.

Online Shopping #1

Okay, so I think I need an intervention... I've been spending way too much time and money shopping online. But I can't help it, the range is just too good!

Online shopping is a great way for people to get great quality fashion for less, and it's so much easier... although I still like going into stores to buy clothes, I'm a little old school.

Here are a few of my favourites from www.topman.com:

-Hype Sweatshirt
-Peoples Market Porweigian T Shirt
-Green Leaf Grandad T Shirt
-Peoples Market Progo Sweatshirt

I'll post some more on online shopping in the near future, but for now, that's it.

Enjoy yourselves, and I'll see you when I see you.

Melbourne Fashion Week

Hey guys!
So today marks the beginning of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
There are so many events happening, it's hard to know where to start. Well one place to start would be the LMFF Opening Event at the Melbourne Docklands. It's presented by David Jones and supported by  Vogue Australia.

Another event which you may want to see are the L'Oreal Paris runways, which showcase some of Australia's leading designers.

All the details for the LMFF can be found here http://www.lmff.com.au/.

Well that's all for now, stay safe, and I'll see you when I see you.

Studying

Hey guys!

So what's new... I have an exam next week and I'm studying my arse off for it. I really need a break.

The exam is for admission into a Medical School, which is something that I really want to get in to... like REALLY want to get in to.

It's a five and a half hour exam, which should be fun... NOT! But after the exam I will be so happy, and relieved, and excited, and tired, just to name a cheeky few.

So I need to get back to studying, so bye for now, and I'll see you when I see you.

Highpoint Launch!

Hey guys!
So I have been to Highpoint Shopping Centre quite a few times over the past three days. this is all because of the launch of the new fashion precinct there.

Last night I went to one of the runway shows that were being held, and I have to say it was pretty good. I can't say that I've been to a runway show before, but I am impressed.

So I've made a post about Highpoint before, but I wanted to talk about the VIP fashion blogger event that was held. It was hosted by Poppy Dinsey of http://wiwt.com/outfits/.

I met some great people at the event, and even had the chance to chat with Poppy, that's right, chat with Poppy Dinsey!

So that's all from me for now, so stay safe, and I'll see you when I see you.

New Highpoint Mall...

Hey!
Don't you look smashing this evening!
Thank you (that was me assuming that the compliment was received).
So Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne, Australia, opened it's final development today, with over 80 new stores. My favourite would have to be Topman. (Side note: I had a job interview with Topman for it's new Highpoint store, but it didn't go to plan. I told myself I would never shop there again... well that worked out well. I can't stay mad at my favourite store now can I?)

Anyway, the new stores opened and I went in for a little look-sy. I have to say the new section is probably the nicest places I've seen in a long time.
But getting aside from the point! There are so many new stores, including Topshop/Topman (yay!), Zara, David Jones, and Universal Store, all of which I shop at religiously.
Now I couldn't go to the grand opening of a fashion mall without buying a few things now can I?

Okay, so put down your cup of tea and listen closely... Highpoint is having some runway shows tonight and tomorrow (Friday) night. I've already reserved some seats for me and my sister, and I highly recommend that you go... it's going to be a great night.
I give you permission to pick up your cup of tea again, but drink it slowly so as to have enough to last you till the end of this post.

So the new fashion mall at Highpoint is a must see, no matter how fashion forward you are (or think you are), there is literally a shop for everybody.
I absolutely love the new stores, and I know I'll be going back for more.

Alright, that's my little speel, enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

I'll see you when I see you.
